ARCAMEA / SUPPORT
A little help.
A clear next step.

Getting started
How do I set up my first vault?
Choose local storage or iCloud during setup, then create and confirm a master password of at least 12 characters. Keep it somewhere safe. Touch ID, Face ID, and PIN unlock are optional and can be configured on each device.
Do I need another account?
No separate ArcaMea account is needed. An iCloud vault uses your Apple Account and iCloud Drive. A local vault can stay on the device where you create it.
Local & iCloud
How do I open the same vault on another device?
Sign in to the same Apple Account, enable iCloud Drive, and allow ArcaMea to use iCloud. Choose Open Existing Vault, select iCloud, and enter the master password you already use for that vault. Allow time for iCloud to download the file. You do not need to create a second vault.
Can I have a local vault and an iCloud vault?
Yes. ArcaMea supports one local vault and one iCloud vault. Use the vault selector to switch between them. Creating a separate vault does not automatically move your existing items into it.
My iCloud vault is not appearing. What should I check?
Check that both devices use the same Apple Account, iCloud Drive is enabled, and ArcaMea has iCloud access. Confirm you selected iCloud rather than Local. Check the app’s iCloud sync status and allow the latest file to download. If it continues, contact support with the exact error and app versions.
Do not delete a vault as a troubleshooting step without a usable encrypted backup and its password. Deleting an iCloud vault removes it from synced devices.
Unlocking & security
Can I use my fingerprint, Face ID, or a PIN?
Yes, on supported devices. Your master password is required when creating a vault. Optional biometric authentication and PIN unlock are configured per device in Settings → Security.
What if I forget my master password?
If an optional unlock method still works, unlock your vault and review the master password options in Security settings. If you cannot unlock it and do not know the password for a usable backup, support cannot recover your encryption key or reset access to your vault.
Can I hide sensitive information?
Sensitive fields are masked by default. You can reveal individual values, use copy buttons, and adjust visibility and automatic locking in Security settings. Be aware of who can see your screen when revealing or entering information.
Backups & attachments
How do backups work?
Settings → Backup provides encrypted backup and restore options. Backups preserve vault records, category templates, attachments, and item history. Keep a copy in a location you can access if a device is lost.
Restoring requires the master password associated with that backup. An older backup retains its original password even if you later change the vault password. Read the restore confirmation carefully: restoring replaces the destination vault’s records.
Can I view an attachment without exporting it?
Yes. Open the item and select its PDF or image to view it inside ArcaMea. Each item supports one attachment up to 10 MB. Export is available when you want a separate copy; exported attachments are unencrypted outside the vault.
Can I see what an item used to say?
Open the item’s History to view up to 30 previous versions, including the earlier values and modification dates. History is stored inside the encrypted vault.
Making it yours
Can I change the default categories and fields?
Yes. In Settings → Categories, edit category names and field templates, add custom categories, and arrange their order. Fields support several types, including text, dates, addresses, card numbers, passwords, and dropdown selections.
What can I search and sort?
Search looks across your fields and notes in the active vault. Item lists can be sorted by Name, Created Date, or Modified Date.
Let’s get it sorted.
Tell us your app version, device, software version, and what happened. Fictional examples are always welcome.
